I suppose that everyone and their cat has eclipse shots this days… but I think this is a bit different:
I was shooting the March 20, 2015 eclipse (in Madrid) through a tree, and as a test I tried to focus on the tree silhouette instead — and that was the result. The normal, infinity focus is this one:
For the curious, it was shot with a Sony Alpha 55, the Vivitar 100/3.5 AF macro “plastic fantastic”, with three stacked ND filters (8, 4, 2) and a pair of step-up adapters. Fun to do. Next one (in 2027) will be better…
